Summer Horn Courses Broumov

11th year of the courses is coming.....

In the year 2025, The Summer Horn Courses will be held in National Monument of the Broumov Monastery for the eleventh time. During the time, the courses gained their place in the summer cultural program of the monastery, and the organizers' efforts is to further extend the courses of international participation. This has been successful since the second year of teaching (Kerry Turner - member of the American Horn Quartet, Saar Berger - member of Ensemble Modern, finnish horn player Esa Tapani, Ricardo Matosinhos, portugal horn player and composer, Darius Mikulski - polish conductor and hornplayer, Raimund Zell - teaching at University Anton Bruckner in Linz, Prof. Jörg Brückner teaching at the University Franz Liszt Weimar, or hungarian hornist Szabolcs Zempléni, teaching at Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Olivier Darbellay swiss principal hornist of the Bern SO and Kammerorchester Basel and professor at music academies in Lucerne and Lausanne or Jens Pluecker, german principal solohornist at NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester and artistic director of the Academy of the NDR SO -  and also by student participation (in 2018 and 2019 the courses welcomed participants from Japan, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovak republic, Russia, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany and Czech Republic).

The courses are intended for conservatory students and academics, as well as pupils of the elementary school and for the public, without any age limit.

During the courses, the organizer offers participants a full service from transport, accommodation (in the renovated Broumov Monastery in the monastic cells), catering services and leisure time spent in a group with instructors - barbecue, open air concert, monastery visiting etc. After the reconstruction of the monastery there are concert halls with different capacity from thirty listeners up and  the multifunctional hall Dřevník, which is located in the monastery garden and is for 300 listeners. Individual lessons and chamber lessons are held in the monastery and concert hall in parallel.

The concerts will take place in the monastery, in Dřevník, in churches in Broumov and open air - link HERE. In recent years, open air concerts in the Adrspach Rocks have been a great success. Also concerts in the „Jízdárna Hejtmánkovice" (Riding horse house Hejtmánkovice) were acclaimed by public - see youtube HERE. The final top concert of the courses is the concert of lecturers of courses within the festival Za Poklady Broumovska.

Payment of courses
The prices of the course are as follows:
180 EUR / only course fee without accommodation and meals
356 EUR / half board 
396 EUR / full board 

After registration, until June 30th, 2025 a deposit of CZK 500 must be sent to the account below. The surcharge must be paid by transfer to the account below by the end of June, or by cash by registration. The entire amount could be payed by transferring to the account in one step. Please note, for example, your name and surname for an easier orientation in the payment notes.
